Festivals and events in July

Secret Garden Party – 19th – 22nd July

We are once again going to be at the Secret Garden Party this week, 19th – 22nd July.

This is the sixth time that Draught Suffolk Cyder will have been available to festival goers and we’re delighted to be part of such a creative and fascinating occasion. The Aspall Cyder Barn will be there again, a solid oak framed marquee replica of our original cyder house from 1728 which still stands to this day. So come in and sample a bit of cyder whilst you take in the surroundings of what is always an engaging but relaxing and friendly community.

Congratulations to our twitter winners who entered our competition to win tickets this year.

Essex Food and Drink Festival 21st and 22nd July

It’s also a chance to sample the delectable English lager, Suffolk Blonde. Celebrity chefs Jean Christophe Novelli, Aldo Zilli and Gino D’Acampo are among the long list of chefs demonstrating their cookery on the Rangemaster Chefs on Stage The organisers are inviting you to ‘Spend a complete day in foodie heaven’ with the Colchester oysters, regional wines and beers and a gourmet food court.

The festival is open from 10 – 5pm. Visit the website of the festival for further details www.thisistotalessex.co.uk/foodfestival

Jimmy’s Farm Sausage and Beer Festival – 28th and 29th July

Why not join Jimmy at his hugely popular Sausage and Beer festival over the last weekend in July.  We’ll be there and it couldn’t get any more British than having bangers and beer or even a lovely Aspall Cyder. With sausage making demonstrations, live music and plenty of entertainment for the children, take a look at the website for how to buy tickets in advance. http://jimmysfarm.com/products-page/event-tickets/

But it’s not only beer that’s great with sausages, Aspall is a fantastic addition to pork dishes, whether as an accompaniment or ingredient. Why not consider a pork recipe from the Aspall family recipe book.
