New product named after old timer

Aspall's cyder maker for over 50 years

The latest new product to launch by Aspall has been named in tribute to Aspall’s cyder maker of over 50 years, Harry Sparrow. During his time Harry experimented with numerous tannic astringent cyders, using the many bittersweet apples grown at Aspall. He captivated the family and staff with his stories of the war and of when he met Lord Kitchener, a regular visitor to the Hall and cousin to JB Chevallier. Harry even used to test the cyder using his Kitchener head shaped mug. He was a remarkable man who dedicated many years to his craft.

Harry Sparrow Classic English Cyder contains 4.6% ABV and has a clear mid golden-yellow colour and a medium to full-bodied palate. It is available on tap and in 500ml bottles across the Adnams pub estate along with a select number of Fullers pubs and will be available in other premium on-trade outlets in the near future. No pint of Aspall could be without its branded glass, and to ensure you can enjoy and savour the cyder, we’ve also provided exclusive Aspall Harry Sparrow pint glasses.

Harry Sparrow is the the 9th addition to the Aspall family, with the rest of the range available to purchase at major supermarkets, local stores and farm shops as well as our online shop.

Christmas in a glass

Aspall has been producing cyder at the same site in Debenham, Suffolk, since 1728 and it is now run by the eight generation of the Chevallier family, who continue to ensure that quality is never compromised and that the company continue to produce multi-award winning products. Our cyders are made using artisan methods and natural ingredients to produce the best quality products, and with our many award wins over the years, we’re sure Harry Sparrow will be no exception. The official launch of Harry has arrived as we re-launch Aspall Mulled Cyder for the winter. Having recently received several awards this year alone, Mulled will be available throughout pubs during the winter months.
